This is something I have been wanting to do for a while, start a blog and make money from it, but I always end up going down a rabbit hole. The ultimate goal is to build/buy/renovate a bus, tiny home, or RV, and make money online to facilitate this lifestyle. However, like I said, I always end up going down a rabbit hole, which is probably how you ended up here.
Before I start, I just want to say thank you to my first 3 commenters. I know you are poking fun because I left the example paragraph up, and I appreciate the humor, but you should know that ya’ll leaving comments is what really inspired me to start like, now.
So where exactly am I?
Currently, you’re somewhere in the rabbit hole of my imagination. Like I said above, the plan is to live in a tiny home, travel, and make money while doing so. I get started and start coming up with clever names, then branding, buying domain names, designing graphics, etc. and these are all things that I enjoy doing and would like to get paid to do, but without a portfolio, no one is going to hire me, and I’m not all the sudden going to go viral. But, I digress.
I took a leave of absence from work and decided to really kick start the online thing, so I came up with several clever names, registered them, and then got distracted, left up the example post, and didn’t do anything else until now.
This is one of the domain names I registered, so I decided to just go ahead and make it my personal blog, and I can polish it up later.
What’s the plan?
I’ve given you the TLDR version of the plan, its hard to stay organized and not go down a rabbit hole, start to make a FAQ section, get caught up in the formatting, etc., so I will do that later, as I feel like its part of the process.
The cost of living is so high where I live, and I want to build a home, but I don’t want to be permanently tied somewhere, and I want to make as much money as possible but work as little as possible while traveling.
Right now, this is an idea, notes in a folder, and something I’ve been teased about.
I get frustrated because I start looking up how to accomplish these things and I feel like every blog or other information I can find is about people who are already successfully doing this, and while their journey is documented, it’s all time lapsed, and seems so staged. My life is a shit show (more on that later), and I can’t seem to find anyone who was struggling when they started and isn’t trying to sell me crap. (Quick disclaimer- if I talk about stuff I like or services, or people I follow, its genuinely because I found them on my own, not because they sought me out and paid me for an endorsement. When I start making money from paid endorsements, I will let you know.)
So I want to know the real shit. When you’re building, what do you do when something goes awry? What happens when someone gets sick? Or hurts themselves? Or fucks up something? Or shits their pants? How do you get the money, honestly?
I guess that’s why we are here. Welcome to the shitshow.
